Royal Alexander Children's Hospital

The new Brighton Children's Hospital has recently been completed, which has replaced the outdated Royal Alexander Hospital for sick children. EEC were employed by SES to install and commission all the HVAC controls within the hospital. SES worked in partnership with Brighton and Sussex University Hospitals, the NHS Trust and Kajima Europe (UK).

The hospital comprises of a 100-bed unit which includes three operating theatres, diagnostic and treatment facilities, intensive care unit, parent accommodation and children's facility. The controls are based on Trend Controls for the main plant, and a non-Trend unitary controller on each of the 300+ chilled beams which were fully seamlessly integrated into the Trend network.

This was the first time that the unitary HLS controllers had been fully integrated into a Trend system offering a commercial edge and huge cost saving to the client. EEC have extensive knowledge and expertise in the field of healthcare and have carried out design installation and commissioning of many hospitals clinics and healthcare centres in the past.
